Scooters For Less - Technology Briefing

As gas prices rise, scooters and motorcycles are increasingly becoming a hipper, cheaper way to get around.

In keeping with the trend, Amazon opened a category Monday to sell motorcycle and all-terrain vehicle accessories and parts. It is in Amazon’s “tools, auto & industrial” category and has more than 300,000 products from more than 500 manufacturers.

The store sells items such as helmets, gloves and racks.

Electronic Arts drops bid to acquire rival game maker

Electronic Arts has ended its nine-month pursuit of Take-Two Interactive Software and dismissed speculation Monday that it would return for a second attempt to acquire the rival video game maker.

EA abandoned its $2 billion takeover bid Sunday, saying its offer of $25.74 per share was based in part on the ability to publish Take-Two’s games this holiday season. Now that the window for that has passed and EA has had a chance to inspect Take-Two’s business, it has decided the company is not worth what Take-Two is demanding.

“We’ve stepped away. It’s as simple as that,” said Jeff Brown, vice president of EA’s corporate communications.
